| HVI subcontracts with local industry and through Ohio Industries for
the handicapped to provided work for HVI employees, in addition to
providing habilitation, vocation, and community employment options. Transportation, to and from the work site, is also provided by the Hocking County Board of Mental Retardation & Developmental Disabilities. Another type of support offered to HVI employees is identifying and securing competitive employment with time-limited support in the community. HVI collaborates with Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (BVR) to ensure proper on-the-job support and coaching. Regardless of the settings in which they work, individuals with
disabilities earn money by working and developing self-respect through
improvements in work habits and job performance. Each job placement is
determined based upon the match between abilities and preferences of
